Start with a baseline and a question
Describe the current limitation and the outcome that will determine improvement. A lower polymer dose, clearer overflow and easier solids handling are not interchangeable objectives. State the relevant trade-off.
Identify the current product or an untreated control, feed condition and equipment. Keep all sample codes visible so a favorable observation cannot become detached from its material identity.
Prepare each sample consistently
Follow the proposed-grade instructions for powder dispersion and hydration. Record stock concentration, water condition, mixing and time. Check for inconsistent stock before comparing process response.
If water quality is under investigation, use the paired preparation-water test to change only that variable. Preserve the same feed and operating comparison.
Document the dose basis
State whether dose is commercial powder, active polymer or volume of stock solution. Keep conversions visible and use a documented product basis. Avoid interpreting a solids-content figure as an active fraction without supplier confirmation.

Confirm before scaling the order
Advance promising candidates to a bounded equipment trial. Record transfer, separator settings and feed variation. Define the unacceptable result that stops a trial and use plant safety procedures for operational changes.
Keep the approved sample, documents and product code together for commercial qualification. A good laboratory result is evidence to investigate further, not an automatic full-scale supply guarantee.
